There you stand, facing an enormous mountain. It is a formidable giant that once again you face. Maybe it’s a loss of a job, a struggling marriage, a goal you want to achieve, etc. and you turn and there it is bigger than life, what do you do?
Do you turn and run? I hope not because the moment you do this, you will see this mountain again and it will seem even more daunting. Do you go around it? Once again, I hope not. Because if you try and go around it you will soon realize… just how big it is, plus the distractions of getting around it, well by the time you get to where you want to be / need to be that moment or solution is gone.
So what are you to do? You could, should, must tackle it head on! Go up and over, go down and under or go right through it. Or – speak to it and see it move! Mark 11:22-25 (The Message) Jesus was matter-of-fact: “Embrace this God-life. Really embrace it, and nothing will be too much for you. This mountain, for instance: Just say, ‘Go jump in the lake’—no shuffling or shilly-shallying—and it’s as good as done. That’s why I urge you to pray for absolutely everything, ranging from small to large. Include everything as you embrace this God-life, and you’ll get God’s everything. And when you assume the posture of prayer, remember that it’s not all asking. If you have anything against someone, forgive—only then will your heavenly Father be inclined to also wipe your slate clean of sins.”
