Have you ever seen those late night commercials with a guy standing in front of a couple of very nice cars in front of “his” mansion? He is trying to sell you your dream. Many people have fallen for that – they call and order the products that are being sold, they receive them and guess what- very few of them have those cars or the house. They end throwing those products away, putting them on a books shelf or giving them away and in the end feeling down about their life.
Here they thought they were going to buy that dream! Well guess what? You can’t buy someone else’s dream. YOU have to have your own dreams and passions. Do you really want to have those nice cars or the big house? Then you need to search deep within yourself and figure out what makes you tick – then and only then will you know how to live passionately and reach your dreams.
I know what makes me tick: I am a child of God and He has plans for me and they will succeed (Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Proverbs 16:3 Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and your plans will succeed. Psalm 20:4 May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed. Such an assurance – He has made and knows the plans for my life! Now the “catch” is that I need to be in right standing with God, I need to be obedient to His commands and I need to stay on the path He has placed me on. I know without any doubt – that I am going to be very successful in my life, I will live my life passionately and live out my dreams. Not because of what I have done – because of what He has done!
Do you want to live out your dreams and passions? Do you have a relationship with Christ? If not what are you waiting for? He is standing right there with you with His arms wide open to hold you and welcome you into the family.
Say this prayer: “God, I know that I am a sinner. I know that I deserve the consequences of my sin. However, I am trusting in Jesus Christ as my Savior. I believe that His death and resurrection provided for my forgiveness. I trust in Jesus and Jesus alone as my personal Lord and Savior. Thank you Lord, for saving me and forgiving me! Amen!”
